Digital advertising is growing at a much faster pace year on year and mobile technology ranks as a major distributing channel for delivering advertisement. In 2013, North America became the largest mobile advertising market, overtaking Asia-Pacific, according to the IAB 2013 Global Mobile Video Advertising Revenue Report.

However, Asia-Pacific maintains a marginal lead in mobile display advertising (such as banners or video) although the market is rapidly growing in North America also.

Globally, the mobile ad revenue continues to grow, having increased by more than 92%, from $10 million in 2012 to $19.3 million in 2013. The global growth of ad revenue was higher for display mobile ad revenue than for messaging and search in 2013. The mobile ad growth in 2013 was at 123% for display, 92% for search, and 19% for messaging.
